Living Geek: Shelf Liner for Everything
Everyone knows that foamy shelf-liner is great for shelves. We particularly loved this when we lived in California and tiny earthquakes could knock over glasses or slide plates around in the cabinets. Foamy shelf-liner keeps them in place.
You’ve probably also seen this used to help keep throw rugs in place, and you may even have pieces under your rugs. But if it works there, it will work so many other places too! Since it’s just a little bit sticky, you usually don’t need tape or anything. I don’t recommend gluing shelf liner in place as you will often want to wash an item, but a little double-stick tapes will keep it in place.
So grab your scissors and start making things stay put. Here are some of my favorites:
The dog dishes.
Stand lights.
My butcher block table – the butcher block is moveable, and the whole thing folds up to a 15” width. But the shelf liner means the block doesn’t slide around and you can count on it to stay put while you work!
